The weather lately has been so great for getting out, so we decided to attempt Kennesaw Mountain as a family again -- and this time was a success. We'd tried it when Tyler had just turned two, and didn't make it too far, but this time he was all for the hike and never even seemed strained. Scott was carrying Austin on his back and, as usual, racing ahead, so the only time Tyler asked me to carry him was so we could "catch up with Daddy." That was during the steep, last stretch of the mountain so a good work out for me! ;)
We were so lucky to have chosen a weekend when the field of flags were displayed in honor of 9/11.
The glistening sun and gentle wind gave the unexpected sight a truly magical feel and it was easy to be moved to tears. Tyler couldn't get over the awe-inspiring display and had fun exploring the flags, as did the other kids at the park that day.
We weren't ready to head home, so dropped by Marietta Square and had lunch outside, enjoying the people watching and spectacular day. I really forget how charming that area can be and I didn't want to live anywhere else at that moment. Then we hit the icecream shop and by that time, we were all ready for naps!

Sounds Ike such a fun day! I love the puc of Austin with his hand in his mouth and the belly button because Harper does that exact same thing. :-)
