The boys are ages 2 & 4 and this was the most exciting Christmas yet, as talks of Santa and toys and baby Jesus were a constant this December and their joy was so palpable. This morning even, Tyler and Austin were arguing over who was God and who was Baby Jesus in the game of pretend (Tyler insisted Austin be the baby). I was fascinated to hear them discuss this and I wasn't sure whether I should tell Tyler "it's not nice to pretend you're God." But then again, I'm sure God wouldn't mind if it's an innocent game by a 4 year old. ;)We had a wonderful lead-up to Christmas with a celebration at my sister's and then my aunts. I purposely have avoided focusing on the fact that Austin woke up at 6am Christmas morning with a bad stomach bug. But it should be recorded that he and I missed the annual gathering and feast at Pumpkin's house and that was pretty sad.
However, he is feeling better and the love and gifts the boys received from everyone just blew us all away. We are so blessed to live near family and to be in a MUCH calmer place in life than we were last year, when house hunting and selling was underway. Of course, now Scott and I are spastic with new business plans but that's just how we approach life, I guess. ;) Much love and Merry Christmas you all!
