More so than anywhere, I keep my camera close to me at the beach. I love the minimal palette it provides and it's always where I see the boys completely unleashed. They are both expert swimmers and adore the water, the waves and seem at home there more than anywhere else. I love where we live, but do think we will be all moving to the beach one day -- possibly when Tyler is 18 and decides he can't stand being away from it anymore. That boy has the ocean in his soul.
This will be a many-part post of our trip in Easter, when we all went down, including Pumpkin and Grandma, for Spring Break. Pumpkin had reserved this house because it's right on the beach in Seagrove and it was very convenient for us to run inside with the babies. We were still in our sleep-deprived state and the babies were very needy, but I'm glad we continued our tradition of being at the beach on Easter and on our Anniversary, which was particularly nice as an extended date just Scott and I -- biking around the towns like we used to and admiring the details and beauty -- then having the most delicious lobster meal in the town we were married in 11 years ago.
Rosemary has grown and we have grown with it!
These first pics were taken the first night we arrived, and because hauling four small children to the beach is like moving, we were so wiped out, almost too tired to get out for the first night's sunset. But the boys excitement and the beautiful sunset once again lured us out of our fog for a moment. These pics depict the boys' joyful greeting to the sea.
