This year brought some big changes for these two, who were used to our undivided attention, that was severely lessened with colicky and reflux infants that needed every hand available. Their hearts are so big that they never begrudged the babies and always counted themselves so lucky to have them. There was some acting out in other ways, but nothing major, and today they are a little more unruly than they were a year ago -- and I know it's because they have had much more freedom than they were ever used to having pre-twins.
In some ways it was good for all of us. I can say that having four kids has finally forced me to lighten up on some things that I probably needed to before -- allowing the boys to do things they were completely capable of but that I never trusted them to do, such as toasting a bagel or pouring a bowl of cereal.
These photos were around our neighborhood pond as I was just checking the timing of lighting. The boys were intent on picking up the litter, but gave me a few smiles and I treasure these.
