Spoiled Silly

Christmas 2010 is now in full swing and it was a busy and exciting day. It hit me that not only is this Austin's first Christmas, but it's Tyler's third (already 3!), and I'm amazed how time can fly. Like any parent, we worry about spoiling our children, but I loved how our sitter the other day proclaimed that you are supposed to spoil a 2-year old when we expressed this worry. Now I'm all for discipline for behavior, and I won't stand for whining, but I love Tyler to get things he enjoys and I almost think it might have the opposite effect of spoiling -- perhaps he won't value material things as much for having them, which could be a good thing.

Both boys are so blessed to have a large family that lavishes them with attention and presents, and today we had 2 celebrations -- one at Aunt Kathy's house and then one at my mom's house, where they received thoughtful gift after gift. I think it's hilarious that Tyler got so excited about his electric guitar, rocking it out, and that he especially took to Dominic's new car -- a gift he'd already gotten for his birthday that has been neglected in our garage. Austin was most excited about the attention he received, especially from his Aunt Sheri, and of course, G.G. We all received such generous gifts, but we know our greatest presents are from God as we enjoy each other and this precious life together.

The food and desserts were all divine, but apparently Scott and I needed more, because we stopped at Chickfila on the way home for yummy milkshakes...the cherry on top, literally. Yes, you can spoil yourself with food, too, and I'm getting wayyy to good at that these days!

Here comes Santa Claus

Pretty great weather today

I'm still in shock that Tyler's letting me take these brother pictures lately
